What better way to spend the summer than to teach younger girls about your favorite topic- horses! This three-week program is the final step in the leadership camp progression. Build on your learning experiences in CIT I & II. Learn specifics of teaching barn science, caring for horses, and riding skills. You’ll shadow barn staff, help with barn and horse care, share your horse knowledge with participants, and spend time with campers during other classic camp activities.
NEW THIS YEAR: All girls, regardless of number of previous years as a counselor-in-training (CIT), will need to complete the online leadership camp application. It will be reviewed by Girl Scouts River Valleys staff. You will receive an email with your application status within two weeks of submission. If accepted, Girl Scouts River Valleys will register you between March 6 and March 10 and you will receive a session confirmation email. No need to register for these sessions in February.
Transportation: Camp Northwoods Bus Schedule
Prerequisites: Completion of CIT II, minimum of 3 years of riding experience
Policies: Please read through our policies on cancellations, refunds, behavior, disease, and more.
Early Riser Fee applies to current members who register for camp by February 29.
