Camp Edith Mayo allows campers to connect to nature and friends while having engaging, dynamic, and magical outdoor experiences.

From Minneapolis and Saint Paul
- Take Highway 52 South towards Rochester for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- Take Exit 55B and turn right at the light onto 2nd Street SW.
- Turn left on County Road 22 SW.
- Take your first right on Berkshire Road SW and follow for 0.4 miles.
- Turn left onto Burncroft Place SW.
- Follow Burncroft Place SW up the hill until you see the “Entrance” sign on the left.
- Follow the paved road up the hill until you see the Program Center and parking lot on the right-hand side.
From Mankato
- Take Highway 14 East for 75 miles (about 1 hour and 15 minutes)
- Take the exit for County Road 22 (West Circle Drive) and take a right at the stop light.
- Take a right onto Berkshire Road SW.
- Turn left onto Burncroft Place SW.
- Follow Burncroft Place SW up the hill until you see the “Entrance” sign on the left.

1946
Camp Edith Mayo’s 40 acres were donated by Charles Mayo, the son of Edith Mayo, who was the wife of Dr. Charles H. Mayo, one of the brothers who founded the Mayo Clinic.
1947
Camp Edith Mayo opened.
1948
The first troop cabin at Camp Edith Mayo was built.
1981
The Edith Mayo Service Center was constructed.
2010
Edith Mayo hosted the first Volunteer-Led Day Camps put on by Rochester Day Camp.
2015
Girl Scouts River Valleys closed the camp for three years for renovations.
2018
Girl Scouts River Valleys reopened Edith Mayo for Day Camps.
2021
The Rochester retail shop was relocated to Camp Edith Mayo.
