We make it easy for troops to have an overnight adventure! We provide the housing, basic meals, staff-led activities, and a beautiful setting for your troop to learn, play, and bond together. When you’re not participating in staff-led activities, your troop will have a chance to spend time doing troop-led activities that they enjoy—whether that is relaxing and unwinding together or working on Girl Scout badges and Journeys!

|Troop Exploration 1-Night at Camp Singing Hills
Enjoy a two-day, one-night Girl Scout troop adventure at Camp Singing Hills. Bond with your troop and experience fun staff-led and troop-led activities.
Duration:
- Thursday 2:00 pm – Friday 2:00 pm
Registration:
Only the troop leader can register the group. Instead of registering by person, troop leaders register the group by reserving/booking a housing unit (cabin or yurt). Troops can bring more adults than required by their program grade level ratio if desired. As long as housing unit capacity and Girl Scout Safety Safety-Wise guidelines and ratios are met for your troop’s age level, you may bring whatever Girl Scout/adult ratio you wish.
Pricing & Housing:
Just a short walk away, both housing options have access to bathrooms with flush toilets. A shower house is also available.
- Shady Glen Cabin – ($1,170)
- Up to 16 people: Each cabin contains six bunks in the main room and two bunks in a back room with a curtain divider. The cabin is heated and has air conditioning.
- Windsong Yurt – ($650)
- Up to 12 people: A yurt contain six bunks and is equipped with screened, roll-up windows and an overhead dome that opens for circulation. They do not have heat, air conditioning, electrical outlets, or lights (Bring flashlights!).
Activities and Meals:
Your adventure will kick off on Thursday with a snack and staff-led activity (a choice of archery, slingshots, low ropes/team-building games, geocaching, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle-boarding). Each staff-led activity will be approximately 75 minutes. Then troops will have some time to explore camp, do troop-led activities, and get a chance to swim.
Troop Time
Throughout your stay, your troop will have about 4 hours of free time for troop-led activities. Your troop can hike or bike around camp, play a game in the playfield, bring something to tie-dye, work on a project from home or work on Girl Scout badges and Journeys. These activities are planned and facilitated by your troop.
Meals
- Thursday dinner will be your troop’s chance to practice fire building and cooking skills in a campfire cookout! Troops have the option to make “pudgie pie” pizzas, mac-n-cheese or burritos. There will also be veggies, fruit, and a dessert. Your cookout will include supplies and equipment for s’mores!
- Friday breakfast and lunch will be provided in the dining hall. Your meals will be cooked by our kitchen staff.
Please Note: Troops are welcome to bring additional food items/snacks to accommodate dietary needs and troop preferences. There will be space available to store these items safely in the dining hall which included refrigerated space. Troops will also have access to microwaves to use.

- Lunch: Sandwich supplies (bread, peanut butter, jelly, lunch meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and condiments), carrots, fruit, chips and cookies.
- Saturday dinner will be your troop’s chance to practice fire building and cooking skills in a campfire cookout! Troops have the option to make “pudgie pie” pizzas, tin foil dinners, mac-n-cheese or burritos. There will also be veggies, fruit, and a dessert.
- Snacks: Enough for two snacks for each attendee (planned for Friday night and Saturday during the day, but your troop can choose to eat them whenever you want).

Your troop will have swim time each day and your choice of three other staff-led activities over the course of your stay. When your troop is not participating in staff-led activities, your time at camp is all up to you! You will bring your own food to cook over the fire (plan your favorite menu!) and enjoy the outdoors while bonding over your troop’s favorite activities. This session is perfect for troops that are ready to take the next step in planning a camping trip.

Fire pits and a covered picnic shelter are available right next to the cabins or around camp.
- Troops may check out outdoor cooking equipment from camp including pots, pans, cast iron dutch ovens, pie irons, utensils, dishes, and matches/lighters. Firewood is provided near fire pits. Troops are responsible for cleaning their own dishes/equipment and returning them to the “pack out” area below Davidson troop house.

Adult Chaperones
To ensure that supervision requirements are met, troop exploration camps have camper-to-adult ratios. The table below shows how many adults need to attend in relation to the number of Girl Scouts attending. Remember to take cabin and yurt capacity into account. Shady Glen Cabins sleep up to 16 people; Windsong Yurts sleep up to 12; Morning Star cabins sleep 8 people total.
*Chaperones are required to have a current Girl Scout membership and an eligible background check. At least two adults must be unrelated.
